Pat Smith, Director of Congregational Care

My most prevalent spiritual gifts are compassion and shepherding. My degree and my main discipline is Social Work. I have been privileged to work at agencies serving diverse populations including Catholic Charities, Holston Home for Children, and Second Harvest Food Bank of NE Tennessee.
My experience as church staff includes serving as administrative assistant/ bookkeeper of two churches and as the Director of Congregational Care at Trinity UMC in Greeneville, TN where I coordinated all program committees, developed new ministries, and worked extensively creating worship experiences.
At Wesley, I contact and visit people hoping I can make them feel and believe how vital they are to our congregation and to the Lord.
One of my favorite scriptures is from John 13:12-15 12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. 13"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. -- Wow!
